Round 2 of our Carlton Ladies Night cocktail recipe drop! Today’s recipe is for the Bull Run version of the Por Mi Amante…translation “For My Lover”. This cocktail certainly is a spicy one especially when you add our ghost pepper infused Medoyeff Red Menace to the mix. Por Mi Amante (For My Lover)
Ingredients: - 1 3/4 Strawberry Infused BRD Pacific Rum* - 1/8 oz Medoyeff Red Menace (Ghost Pepper Vodka) - 3/4 fresh squeezed & strained lemon juice - 1/2 oz strawberry mint simple syrup**
Directions: Add all ingredients to shaker with ice. Shake until cold. Strain and pour into a martini glass. Garnish with a strawberry slice & lemon peel.
*Take a 1 oz bag of dehydrated strawberries and pour into a large mason jar. Pour in a bottle of 750 ml bottle of Pacific Rum. Give a good shake. Leave together for at least 24 hours. Pour through cheesecloth to strain. Discard strawberries.
**Add 8 oz raw sugar and 8 oz water to saucepan, and stir over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Add one cup of finely chopped fresh ripe strawberries and 1/2 cup torn mint leaves. Bring to a low boil, then remove from heat and keep covered to steep. Pour through a cheesecloth to remove fruit and mint. Keep in fridge for up to one month.
